Esta serie se inscribe en el marco de la exposición «Migración, territorialización y desterritorialización» presentada en ZONAMACO 2023 expuesta en el stand de la Universidad Anahuac (ZONA MACO DISEÑO) . En ella, la artista regresa a su lugar de infancia con una nueva mirada que reinterpreta el espacio. Tras diez años desde que emigró estudia las transformaciones del entorno y las huellas que el tiempo ha dejado tanto en el paisaje como en su percepción. La distancia y el paso del tiempo han alterado su forma de observar, y esa evolución se refleja en las imágenes. La obra invita a explorar la relación entre paisaje y memoria, donde el pasado y el presente se entrelazan, creando una nueva forma de habitar el recuerdo.
Este proceso de retorno, sin embargo, no es un simple regreso al origen, sino una reconfiguración de la identidad. En Origen, el retorno no es retroceder, sino volver siendo diferente. A través de un recorrido narrativo, la artista traza un trayecto desde la casa familiar, símbolo de su origen, hasta su ser actual, enriquecido por los cambios vividos durante su década en México. Este concepto conecta teóricamente con la identidad migrante como una identidad en tránsito, siempre en constante reconstrucción.
Origin
This series is framed within the exhibition “Migration, Territorialization, and Deterritorialization”, presented at ZONAMACO 2023 and shown at the Universidad Anáhuac stand (ZONA MACO DISEÑO). In this body of work, the artist returns to her childhood place with a renewed gaze that reinterprets space. Ten years after emigrating, she examines the transformations of the environment and the traces that time has left both on the landscape and on her own perception. Distance and the passage of time have altered the way she observes, and this evolution is reflected in the images. The work invites viewers to explore the relationship between landscape and memory, where past and present intertwine, creating a new way of inhabiting remembrance.
This process of return, however, is not a simple going back to the origin, but rather a reconfiguration of identity. In Origen, returning does not mean going backward, but coming back as someone different. Through a narrative journey, the artist traces a path from the family home—symbol of her origin—to her present self, enriched by the changes experienced during her decade in Mexico. This concept connects theoretically with the idea of migrant identity as an identity in transit, constantly undergoing reconstruction.
