Laura Romero (Madrid, 1976) es una artista visual española que reside y trabaja en México. Licenciada en Bellas Artes por la Universidad Complutense de Madrid, complementó su formación en la Universitat Oberta de Catalunya en Innovación en Arte y Cultura Digital, así como diversos cursos en instituciones como la University of the Arts London – Central Saint Martins y el Centro Internacional de Fotografía y Cine EFTI (Madrid).
Su práctica multidisciplinar abarca la la pintura, la imagen fotográfica, la instalación, la escultura, y el dibujo, explorando la relación entre el espacio, la memoria y la identidad.
Desde una perspectiva conceptual, su trabajo investiga la migración y el habitar como procesos que transforman el territorio y a su vez, a quien lo habita. Explora la relación entre el cuerpo y el entorno, abordando la ciudad y el paisaje natural como escenarios de tránsito, ausencia y permanencia. Sus últimas series profundizan en los caminos recorridos, la huella que dejamos y la memoria de lo que queda atrás. La transitoriedad y lo efímero del tiempo son ejes centrales en su obra, donde cada espacio es testigo del paso y la huella de quienes lo habitan.
Seleccionada este año en el PECDA 2025 por el Gobierno del Estado de Querétaro como Creadora con Trayectoria en Artes Visuales, su trabajo ha sido seleccionado en certámenes como el 54º Certamen Biennal D´art de Pollença 2025, ARTBOX. PROJECT New York 1.0, Premio Ciudad de Palencia de Creación Artística y por la Real Academia de Bellas Artes de Nuestra Señora del Rosario (A Coruña, España). Ha participado en ferias como ZONAMACO, Art Madrid, Contemporary Istanbul, New Art Fair Paris o Miami Art Fair, entre otras, así como en exposiciones en Nueva York, París, Madrid, Hamburgo, Estambul, Estocolmo, Italia, Suiza y Miami.

Her multidisciplinary practice encompasses painting, photographic imagery, installation, sculpture, and drawing, exploring the relationship between space, memory, and identity. From a conceptual perspective, her work investigates migration and dwelling as processes that transform territory and, in turn, those who inhabit it. She explores the relationship between the body and the environment, approaching the city and the natural landscape as settings of transit, absence, and permanence. Her most recent series delve into the paths traveled, the traces we leave behind, and the memory of what remains. Transience and the ephemeral nature of time are central axes of her work, where each space becomes a witness to the passage and imprint of those who inhabit it.
